Jim was so friendly and welcoming and told my children they could touch all his lovely gems and beautiful ornaments and artefacts. We bought a few beautiful items and will buy more, especially as my eldest who us nearly 9 is a keen fossil hunter!!

Visited Jurassic Jim's shop in Shanklin after it being recommended by a friend, so pleased we did! What a friendly, engaging, knowledgeable chap Jim is, great with the kids and really informative of the local area. The contents of the shop are amazing, so many really cool items at such reasonable prices, we could have spent a lot longer in there than we did but the beach called for a spot of fossil hunting of our own! I can say without doubt that if we ever find ourselves on the Isle of Wight again this will be a place we make a point of visiting first!

My husband and I visited on rare weekend away minus our brood! Jim is is warm and friendly gent with a vast knowledge. Jim and his son were so helpful and welcoming. The shop holds a treasure of interesting and rare fossils and gemstones. We will return during our family holiday in August and we know we will be equally welcomed with our children. Absolutely visit Jim, he is a gem.

Fantastic shop so much to see and very well priced. Our children said it was the best place on earth .We went back again in same week .We will be back again next year .Some lovely unusual gifts here and Jim is just so lovely and great with children of all ages .Well done Jim 😍🙏🌈

I honestly couldn’t rate this shop higher - we went in on Halloween and the shop was packed to the rafters with families with young kids and it was manic. Jim was incredible, he was chatting to everyone, including all the kids, answering a million questions and serving customers on his own. Perfectly chilled and seemed to genuinely be enjoying himself. He was telling kids it was perfectly fine for them to pick up anything!

We also returned later on in the day as we wanted to have a better look at everything with fewer people around. Ended up buying loads more stuff (and would have bought a lot more if we could afford it!). There’s honestly so much amazing stock in there from crystals to petrified wood to bones and teeth, and it cost me a fraction of what I’ve spent on my other fossils and crystals in my collection.

Love this shop so much and can’t wait to return here on our next holiday. Thank you so much Jim!

This shop is amazing,it has all sorts of wonderful cystals, fossils ect. Jim is such a friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable gentleman.Very good Value indeed for the treasures on sale. Every time we come over to the Island we make our way to Jims shop. Really recommend it. And if you have children, they will love it and the great thing is, he really has amazingly priced items,so you can buy them a gift without breaking the bank. Thanks Jim. Took our dinosaur and fossil-mad 9 year old for a shopping treat, and spent an hour perusing the amazing things in store! Jim offered fantastic customer service during a busy period on his own, and we got a great deal on some already bargain buys. Highly recommended for anyone interested in the fossil history of the island!

I’ve always had a great love of fossils and crystals so visiting Jurassic Jim while on the Isle of Wight was a must for me and it was just as good as I had hoped, so many things in there that I wanted to buy and all at affordable prices, I didn’t want to leave! But the best part of the shop was definitely Jim, he’s enthusiastic, friendly with a little cheekiness and generally a lovely guy and if you have a question about the items in his shop chances are he knows the answer and will happily tell you, It’s definitely a shop I have plans to visit again (probably more than once) when I go back. Also if anyone wanted to know there is a public car park close by round the back down the hill. I’ll make sure to treasure the Apache Tear I got (as well as everything else)!
